Prevention and intervention against bullying and cyberbullying

The Campania Region, through Regional Law no. 11 of 22 May 2017, entitled “Provisions for the prevention and counteraction of bullying and cyberbullying in the Campania Region,” promotes initiatives and projects aimed at safeguarding the educational, social, and psychological development of minors. These actions focus on the prevention, management, and counteraction of bullying in all its forms, including cyberbullying.

The project involves both students from lower and upper secondary schools across Campania—who are invited to participate in a music contest—and their families, as well as the wider educational community, through a series of performative awareness-raising events.

As part of the regional project “Prevention and Counteraction of Bullying and Cyberbullying” (Regional Law no. 11/2017), the Campania Region, through Scabec, presents a series of nine performative awareness meetings addressed to families and the educational network of students from lower and upper secondary schools across Campania.

The initiative, hosted in five cultural sites across the five provinces (National Archaeological Museum of Naples, Royal Palace of Caserta, Provincial Art Gallery of Salerno, Museum of Sannio in Benevento, and the Monumental Complex of the Bourbon Prison in Avellino), is grounded in the belief that state museums, as places of art, knowledge, and shared heritage, can play an active role in the civic and cultural development of younger generations, contributing to the creation of more aware and responsible communities.

The programme opens on Saturday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m., at the Auditorium of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Institutional greetings by Francesco Sirano, Director General of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, will be followed by speeches from Ninni Cutaia, Regional Councillor for Culture of the Campania Region, and Andrea Morniroli, Regional Councillor for Social Policies and Education, reaffirming the regional administration’s commitment to strengthening prevention and counteraction policies against bullying and cyberbullying, as well as supporting the educational, social, and psychological development of minors.

This will be followed by the performative meeting “Antibodies of Knowledge on Bullying and Cyberbullying”, curated by the social cooperative L’Isola che c’è, which combines scientific information and artistic performance through multidisciplinary languages and a live stage format. Speakers, actors, musicians, artists, and digital professionals will engage in dialogue with the audience on bullying and cyberbullying, alternating talks with performative moments. The aim is to create a shared space for listening, observation, and reflection, transforming the event into a participatory, immersive, and experiential experience.

Each event will conclude with a guided tour of the hosting museum’s collections or exhibitions, marking an active collaboration with the participating cultural institutions: places where beauty becomes an educational tool and can teach, through direct experience, kindness, respect, and a sense of community.

Working with beauty and cultural heritage also means promoting respect, listening, and healthy relationships.

Raise Your Voice. Your Music Against Bullying

CONDIVIDI

Songs written and performed by students from Campania to raise awareness among young people about the importance of preventing and combating bullying: this is the goal of “Raise Your Voice. Your Music Against Bullying,” an initiative promoted and funded by the Campania Region (Regional Law no. 11/2017 – “Provisions for the prevention and counteraction of bullying and cyberbullying in the Campania Region”) and implemented by Scabec – Campania Cultural Heritage Society. The project aims to engage young people in the fight against discrimination through the universal language of music.

The contest is open to students from lower and upper secondary schools across Campania. Each participating school is required to produce an original song (lyrics and music) focused on the themes of bullying and cyberbullying, demonstrating creativity and originality.

The musical piece, with a minimum duration of 60 seconds and a maximum of 180 seconds, must fall within one of the following five categories:

  1. Rap
  2. Trap
  3. Neomelodic
  4. Classical
  5. Pop / Light Music

Each school may submit one entry only, either individual or collective, to be sent by 12:00 PM on March 28, 2025.

A panel of experts—comprising one representative from Scabec and two specialists—will select the top 10 entries for each school level, based on criteria such as thematic coherence, quality, originality, and communicative effectiveness.

The winners will be announced during a final event to be held by the end of the school year, where the selected songs will be performed by students alongside renowned artists.

Winning schools will receive Feltrinelli vouchers worth €150, while awarded students will have the opportunity to participate in an official event of the Campania Region.

In addition, highlighting the strategic role of culture in fostering awareness and promoting positive social behavior among young people, winners will receive a campania>artecard family pass—a cultural card promoted for over 15 years by the Campania Region and Scabec, granting access to some of the region’s most remarkable cultural sites.

The contest “Raise Your Voice. Your Music Against Bullying” reaffirms the Campania Region’s ongoing commitment to protecting younger generations through initiatives that combine creativity, education, and prevention.

In promoting the core values of respect, tolerance, and the fight against discrimination, the Campania Region and Scabec are supported by outstanding partners, including:

  • SSC Napoli, with captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo
  • The band Foja, with frontman Dario Sansone
  • Neapolitan singer-songwriter Tony Tammaro
  • Campanian singer of Nigerian origin Ste (Stephani Ojemba)
  • Director Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo and actor Francesco Panarella (from Mare Fuori), with the transmedia project Interference
