A calendar of international events that includes concerts, workshops, masterclasses and meetings, promoted and organised by the Regione Campania through Scabec and realised at the Certosa di San Lorenzo in collaboration with the MIC regional directorate, with the aim of transforming Italy's largest Carthusian monastery into a cultural hub where music, contemporary art and baroque art meet and merge.
The following artists will be featured at Double Sky: Rita Marcotulli, Gianluca Petrella, Luca Aquino, Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, Fabrizio Bosso, Giovanni Guidi, Francesco Bearzatti, Michele Rabbia, and many others. The international music festival, directed by Maria Pia De Vito, is organized and promoted by Scabec for the Campania Region. The preview will take place on August 19, with the main event from August 23 to 27. The Charterhouse of San Lorenzo in Padula will be the venue for this event.
The review will be preceded by a preview on Thursday, August 19 at 9 p.m. with Javier Girotto & Aires Tango, a long-established ensemble that interprets the tango with improvisation. In Padula, they will collaborate with the voice, the author's pen, and the theatricality of Peppe Servillo.
The Masterclasses and music workshops, curated by Maria Pia De Vito and scheduled from August 24 to 27, aim to expand the expressive and sound vocabulary through listening, analysis, and practice. Please note that these services are provided free of charge, but a booking is required.
The Charterhouse is also hosting an exhibition by photographer Fabio Donato Incontri, showcasing 2 Portraits. The exhibition opens on Thursday, August 19 at 7:00 pm in the Casone della Certosa di San Lorenzo. The exhibition project, curated by Mario Franco and accompanied by a catalogue volume, offers a comprehensive overview of the extensive and dynamic career of Fabio Donato, a prominent figure in the cultural landscape of Naples and beyond. Donato has been a driving force in the photographic community for over five decades, and this exhibition provides a unique opportunity to appreciate his contributions.
Furthermore, on the occasion of the exhibition, Campania Artecard is organizing the Visititazioni initiative, which includes special guided tours, excursions, and walks to discover six villages in the Vallo di Diano. This initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the local Mountain Community. Please note that booking is compulsory.
