The Ethnos Festival, programmed and financed by the Regione Campania through Scabec, is organized by La Bazzarra under the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Naples, in partnership with the municipalities of San Giorgio a Cremano, Portici, Ercolano, Torre del Greco and Torre Annunziata, and with the collaboration of the Fondazione Ente Ville Vesuviane and the Department of Agriculture - University of Naples Federico II.
The festival's cultural partner is Campania Artecard.
The festival was established in 1995 with the objective of reviving the traditional customs of the Vesuvian region. Since its inception, the festival has expanded its scope, becoming one of the most significant observatories of ethnic music and one of the most highly anticipated and respected music festivals in Italy. The festival's itinerant format has consistently involved multiple cultural sites in the Vesuvian area, including the Vesuvian villas of the Miglio d'Oro, the Vesuvius National Park, and the cultural heritage of the Vesuvius coastline. These sites have been enhanced and made accessible to the general public, thereby extending the average tourist stay in the area.
